ABOUT

About & Licensing

LibrarySearch is a component-library panel plugin for Altium Designer 24. Its goal is to compress "find a component → build a library → place it on the sheet" into a single step.

Status and testing boundaries

The project is currently an invitation beta. The following is stated plainly so you can plan your testing:

Upstream components and licenses

The converter is derived from the following open-source projects, with thanks. Both upstreams are dual-licensed MIT OR Apache-2.0; copies of their original license texts ship inside the release package (plugin/licenses/).

ComponentSourceBaseline revision / license
easyeda2altium github.com/korbin/easyeda2altium ad21515ef · MIT OR Apache-2.0
altiumrs github.com/korbin/altiumrs 2b45c1f9 · MIT OR Apache-2.0
C# plugin, installer, delivery tooling and tests This project All rights reserved; no open-source license granted — commercial delivery rights to be confirmed by the project owner

Local modifications cover pin direction and electrical-end coordinates, symbol styling, SVG curve subdivision, arc angles, text/fonts and per-field UTF-8 decoding, among others. The modified converter and modified altiumrs must be used together. Rust dependency notices live in plugin/licenses/rust-dependencies/ inside the release package.

Data sources

Component data is fetched on demand from the JLCEDA / EasyEDA official library (lceda.cn · easyeda.com). Always confirm component behavior, dimensions and electrical connections against the vendor datasheet.

The converter's software license does not itself grant rights to redistribute third-party CAD data commercially or operate a bulk-harvesting platform. Before publishing on an external commercial platform, the project owner must confirm upstream data terms, provenance and any required authorization.

Feedback

If you hit a problem while testing, use More → Export feedback log in the panel to produce a feedback package, and submit it — together with component numbers, the full AD version, reproduction steps and screenshots — through the channel you received the test package from. The feedback package contains no projects or library files and is never sent automatically.
